Chris Blake and Charlie Wood used the ALMA Conference last week to announce the winner of the prestigious Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for the 8th cohort of the CertBALM® qualification as Jodie Parker of Secure Trust Bank.

Jodie commented “I am delighted to have won the John Cummins Award and extend my thanks to everyone involved in running every aspect of the course.  Working in Finance for a relatively small institution, I have previously only had a broad overview of capital and liquidity.  The CertBALM® has given me a much deeper understanding of how the banking sector works which will be invaluable whichever route I choose to take in my career.  The Certificate is extremely well structured and very comprehensive, and the fact that teaching comes from real industry practitioners really sets it apart.  Despite the pandemic meaning my cohort never met in person (yet!), the course has allowed me to connect with others across the industry and I’m looking forward to enjoying a drink together when we can!”

Steve Heeley, Group Financial Controller at Secure Trust Bank commented, “We’re all delighted that Jodie has won the award for Outstanding Academic Achievement for the CertBALM®.  When added to her excellent results in her accounting qualification, this gives Jodie a great range of skills that she can apply throughout her career at Secure Trust Bank.  Well done Jodie!”

Robin Windle of MUFG Securities and Vikram Ravi of TD Securities took second and third place respectively.
