Last year, Gaynor Mullane, the Franchise Treasurer of RBS, was sadly taken from us far too early. Her commitment to the Association was enormous. In recognition and memory of Gaynor, ALMA is delighted with the blessing and support of her family, to be launching the Gaynor Mullane Series. This will take the form of three specific evening events where senior banking and treasury professionals will be sharing their experiences and insights. They will advise on what they consider to be the most important skills, competencies and knowledge to help manage a treasury career.
The events will take place in February, April and June 2019. These evenings will be free to attend although we will be having a collection at each event for Gaynor’s Tribute Page in aid of the Samaritan Ward at Guy’s Hospital.
The dates are: Wednesday 3rd April and Wednesday 5th June
SECOND EVENT: Wednesday 3rd April 2019
Venue: Legal & General, Coleman Street, London
Speaker: John Cummins, MD of Future Cities, Legal & General and former Group Treasurer of RBS
John Cummins will explore how Gaynor’s life and resilience in the face of cancer was, and still is, a personal inspiration. He will cover personal as well as professional resilience and factors in managing high stress situations, linking to treasury and key career moments that matter. John will finish by talking about how banks, since 2008, have built up resilience of their balance sheets and what lessons can be taken from those actions.
