Masterclass Mini-Series Part 1: Introduction to Repo Markets

TreasurySpring’s CEO, Kevin Cook and CPO, Henry Adams with guest speaker Stephen Lethaby (Senior Vice President at Clearstream) will lead an ALMA Masterclass on Friday 16th June 12-1pm on Part 1 – Introduction to Repo Markets.
Part 1 will be an informative introduction to repo, an essential financial instrument for financing securities and a vital liquidity tool. The session will look at what are repo markets – who are the participants and the markets’ unique features. We will explore what are the setups necessary to execute repo and market access. Finally we will learn about settlement from the Custodian’s perspective, allowing banks to address behavioural assumptions in modelling and stress-testing.
Part 2, after the summer, will build on repo markets to wider cash markets and lessons from recent market events. Look out for further details on Part 2 in a future newsletter.
Speakers:
Kevin Cook is Co-founder and CEO at TreasurySpring, the FinTech Fixed-Term Fund (FTF) digital platform. Kevin was previously a lawyer and Partner consulting on short-dated investments.
Henry Adams is the Chief Product Officer at TreasurySpring, designing fixed term funds with prior experience as Repo Trader at RBC Capital Markets.
Stephen Lethaby, is SVP Custody and Collateral Management/Securities Lending Sales at Clearstream Banking. He leads interactions with Banks and their Repo Desks at Clearstream.
