After leaving Trinity College, Cambridge, Jon has had a City career spanning over thirty years. He began on the fixed income desk at Phillips & Drew, and then worked for a number of money brokers including what is now ICAP where he set up a Treasury Consultancy. He also set up subsequently similar successful consultancies at Sterling International Brokers and King & Shaxson before being recruited by the FSA at the height of the crisis in 2008. There he specialised in liquidity and interest rate risk regulation for smaller banks and building societies, before transferring to the Bank of England’s new regulatory function, the Prudential Regulation Authority, in 2013. He now heads up the Liquidity and ALM team providing specialist support to the supervision of all UK banks and building societies outside of the very largest firms. The team focus on liquidity management, treasury operations, interest rate risk and basis risk. Jon has been very closely involved in the development of the PRA’s implementation of the new LCR regime.
He is married with three children. He is a member of the Court of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers, serving on their Finance Committee, and is also a Member of the MCC and Southgate Cricket Club. He tries to enjoy watching West Ham.
