Now online, this course will be offered as three consecutive online half day sessions on February 22nd, 23rd and 24th. The first two sessions on February 22nd and 23rd will, together, provide an overview of the basics of liquidity and funding. They will explain how these areas are typically managed and controlled covering both internal and regulatory liquidity and funding ratios. Current industry practitioners provide examples and lead discussions to bring key topics to life and explain current areas of industry focus.
Session 3 on February 24th, which can also be booked as a stand-alone session, will focus on the Internal Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP). As well as providing a useful outline of the ILAAP, examples of topics covered in more detail are liquidity stress testing and how to manage the ILAAP process. Industry practitioners provide case study examples and lead discussions to illustrate some areas of current best practice.
This course continues to be aimed at those relatively new to these topics and is of potential interest to those working in Treasury, ALM, Risk and Audit functions as well as those in other areas interested in increasing their understanding of these key topics. This course introduces a range of key concepts and practices that can then be further developed by studying the Certificate in Bank ALM(CertBALM®) qualification.

Day 1 covers the basics of IRRBB – what it is and how typically it is managed and controlled. No prior knowledge is required or assumed. Day 2 then looks at some more advanced topics including behavioural risk, what constitutes best practice in respect of internal IRRBB governance and then considers the recently announced changes to the regulatory requirements and the impact these may have on banks. The course is designed so that delegates may opt to attend either both days or just one of the two days on a stand-alone basis. Delegates, however, considering attending only Day 2 should review the Day 1 course outline in detail to ensure that they are fully conversant with the subject matter as knowledge of this will be assumed.

A new ALMA course and an opportunity to hear from practitioners about managing the opportunities and financial risks arising from climate change.
Central banks and regulators are becoming increasingly focused on “greening” their own market operations as well as assessing firms’ management of climate risks. At the same time investors are focussing more on firms’ ESG credentials, with one prominent investor suggesting that ESG ratings will soon be as important as a firms’ credit ratings.
On this half-day course you will cover climate risk for banks & building societies, “green” financial markets and the regulatory landscape. We will then hear from practitioners on the latest challenges and opportunities in capital, funding and HQLA management, as well as residential property risks and green issuance.
